ITINERARY
May 8 – Arrival at Zurich airport and train to Lucerne (1 hour), one of Europes’s most charming cities, with its idyllic location overlooking the lake and nestled amidst snow-covered mountains. In the afternoon you can explore the old town and enjoy a boat cruise. Overnight in Lucerne.
May 9 – Today you will enjoy an excursion up to Mount Pilatus by panoramic gondola and the "Dragon Ride" aerial cableway. Towering over the region with an altitude of 2,128m/6,982ft, Mt. Pilatus offers spectacular views of 73 Alpine peaks. On Fräkmüntegg you will experience the longest summer toboggan run. Overnight in Lucerne.
May 10 – Optional excursion to Mt. Rigi also called "Queen of the Mountains". Continue your train journey to the mountain village of Grindelwald (2.5 hours with 1 change), known for its unique alpine landscape and surrounded by the famous mountain range of Mt Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Free afternoon to hike or relax. Overnight in Grindelwald.
May 11 – Another highlight of your visit in Switzerland awaits you today: enjoy a journey to Mt. Schilthorn, a wonder of the Bernese Oberland with its magnificent 360° panoramic views and elevation of 2970 m. At the summit you can enjoy a delicious meal in the revolving restaurant of Piz Gloria with views of Mount Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Overnight in Grindelwald.
May 12 – Today you will board the Golden Pass Express train to Montreux. You will find yourself among alpine forests, bubbling mountain springs and picturesque mountain villages. In the afternoon you can visit the medieval castle Chateau de Chillon or take a boat cruise. Overnight in Montreux.
May 13 – Train to Geneva (1 hour) where you will visit the the Patek Philippe Museum. As the UN capital of peace, home of luxury watch industry and a multitude of cultural events, Geneva is a delightful and exciting place to visit. Overnight in Geneva.
May 14 – Continue by regional train to Zermatt (4 hours with 2 changes), the famous car-free Alpine resort at the foot of the Matterhorn. Overnight in Zermatt.
May 15 – From Zermatt, the popular Gornergrat Bahn, Europe’s highest open-air cogwheel railway, takes you up to the Gornergrat. The train crosses impressive bridges, galleries and tunnels. On the Gornergrat viewing platform you are surrounded by 29 peaks rising to above 4000 m. Overnight in Zermatt.
May 16 – Today you board the Glacier Express, a 6 hour rail journey which takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 m to Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland and one of the most authentic and completely car-free. Travel in comfort through the unspoilt natural beauty of a landscape rich in ancient, fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries-old culture. Overnight in Chur.
May 17 – Train to Zurich (1 hour), the hippest and most interesting city of Switzerland. Visit the Lindt Home of Chocolate in Kilchberg, reachable by direct bus, train or boat from downtown Zurich and the Flieger Flab Museum (10 mins by train from Zurich). Overnight in Zurich.
May 18 – Train transfer to Zurich airport for your international flight. End of services.
